Retracing Native Histories on the Landscape

Bidwell House Museum, guided walk with Rob Hoogs. 100 Art School Road, Monterey, MA 01245. Members: $10. Non-members: $15. Join guide Rob Hoogs to explore the grounds of the Bidwell House Museum as you retrace the steps of the Native Americans—specifically the local Stockbridge Band of the Mohican Tribe—who lived and hunted in this area for thousands of years.  On this walk you will see displays about Mohican history, herb gardens, agriculture, a wigwam village and maple sugaring.  Part of the tour takes place in the Museum gardens while the rest takes you through some of the wooded trails on the property.  Dress for a hike and bring water and a snack.  This hike will take approximately two hours. The Bidwell House Museum is open Thursdays to Mondays from 11 am to 4 pm with tours on the hour, through Columbus Day.
